Prague Film School offers quality education and practical training in the following disciplines:

• Filmmaking:

Core studies and specialization in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, post-production. Elective areas: directing actors, color theory, film history, photography, animation fx, and other.



• Animation:

Core areas: animation techniques, character animation, post-production. After Effects, Maya, ZBrush and Vue. Electives: color theory, writing for animation, animation history, photography.

• Documentary Film:
Focus and specialization in dramaturgy, script development, production, cinematography, editing. Elective disciplines: film history, film composition, photography, color theory, and other.

• Acting for Film:

Acting techniques, voice and physical training, improvisation, image based acting, monologue. Business of acting. Elective courses: directing actors, film history and theory, color theory, sound recording.

Prague Film School programs are full-time and in English.

Three different types of programs are offered:
year programs, with a possibility of extending to a second year - 80% of students enroll into year programs;
semester programs - most of semester students are either working professionals, or come under study abroad programs;
and one-month summer workshops.

International Student Body, Faculty and Staff



Film School students come from all over the world (usually 25-30 countries are represented; from Iceland to South Africa, and Brazil to Japan).

Instruction takes place in groups of 8-12 students (with exception of some lecture-based elective courses, and screenings).

During the year program, there are up to 50 students studying at the school and using the school's facilities.

Certification and Grading System

To assess academic and project performance throughout their studies, students can opt between grades or pass/fail ratings. Final grades are recorded on the academic transcript provided with the Prague Film School Diploma.
Prague Film School courses are accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education under the rubric of professional training. Grades are calculated according to European Credit Transfer System standard, ECTS.
